A prototype Chemomorphic Field Inducer [on the left] has an array of 3 detectors, 5 keys corresponding to each of the 5 states of matter (gas, liquid, solid, plasma and ether), and a simple analogue display roughly calibrated from 0 to 10.
The casings of both field inducers are constructed in brass and decorated with black laquer inlays, while the keys are carved, bakelite that was coloured using a number of aniline dyes.
